It's Love
(Barbara Bailey Hutchison © Christara Publishing, BMI )
I read it in the news today
They're trying to pass a law to say
We don't have the right to love
Everyone the way we want
But who's to say what they believe
Is gonna be what's right for me and you
Maybe they forgot
It's love, it's love we're speaking of, it's loveIf I was born left handed
Or if my eyes were blue
Would it make a difference
In what I mean to you
Will we see before we reach
The point of no return
Intolerance won't teach us
The lesson we must learn
It's love, it's love we're speaking of, it's loveIt's love, that fills us with the light
By the grace of God
The greatest gift in life
It's love, that brings us to our knees
Faith and hope are strong
But greater than these is love
Fundamental ignorance
Based on religious fear
Will never get us anywhere
Certainly no nearer to
The One who's touch created us
And makes us all the same
For whenever two or more of you
Are gathered in the name
It's love, it's love we're speaking of, it's love
In My Heart
(Barbara Bailey Hutchison © Christara Publishing, BMI )
I heard you whisper to me
When you thought I was sleeping
The words were clear
I hold them here
In my heartIt's right there in your eyes
I see it every time you look at me
Your love is clear
I keep it here
In my heartIn my heart
I know your love is real
In my heart
Your touch I feel
In my heart
You always find a way to say it in the dark
What I feel in my heartI know it every day
You show it in the way you hold me
Your love is real
This I can feel in my heartAnd when you whisper to me
You know I'll always believe
Your love is clear
I feel it here in my heart
Paint The Sky Green
![]()
(Julie Schrader Rust © Schrader Music, BMI)
I held a pallet in my hand
And started to remember when
They said skies aren't green
Color in between the lines
Before me there's an empty page
And paint that comes in every shade
I take a breath listen hard
And find a place inside my heart that tells mePaint the sky green
Make the water yellow
Move the earth with just one hand
Jump the ocean
Dance with Orion
Sing with creatures in the sea
Limits don't exist for meI held a pallet in my hand
And started to remember when
I was five maybe three
Painting came so easily
The paint and brush just seemed to glide
The colors dance and come alive
I found a place within my soul
No time no sense no self control where IPaint the sky green
Make the water yellow
Move the earth with just one hand
Jump the ocean
Dance with Orion
Sing with creatures in the sea
Limits don't exist for me
Daughters Of Feminists
(Nancy White © Multinan Inc, SOCAN )
Daughters of feminists
Love to wear pink and white
Short frilly dresses
They speak of successes with boys
It annoys their mom
Daughters of feminists won't put on jeans
Or the precious construction boots
Mama found cute ugly shoes
They refuse how comeDaughters of feminists think they'll get married
to some wealthy guy who'll support them forever
Daughters of feminists don't bother voting at allDaughters of feminists beg to wear lipstick
Each day from the age of three
Daughters of feminists think that a princess
Is what they are destined to beHow do they get so girly
How come they want a Barbie
Why does it start so early
Why when we bring her up just like a fella
Who does she idolize&emdash;CinderellaHoney Cinderella's a doormat. Do you think when she marries that handsome prince, he's not going to expect her to clean the entire castle? Look at all those rooms and he's always on the road. And think about Snow White, I mean come on, doing all the housework for seven guys in exchange for what, room and board. This is not a good deal.
Daughters of feminists bruise so easily
Daughters of feminists hurt
Daughters of feminists curtsy and skip
Daughters of feminists flirt
They say, Please Mommy can I do the dishes?
Or Let's make a pie for my brother.
Are they sincere are they crazy or are they just Trying to stick it to Mother
I Must Be In Love
(Barbara Bailey Hutchison © Christara Publishing, BMI )
I've been thinking bout you every night
When the morning wakes you're on my mind
You'd think that I'd know better
Or at least I'd know enough
All I know is I must be in love
I must be in loveEverywhere I swear I see your face
Shining like some star from outer space
You're every part of everything I'm dreaming of
All I know is I must be in love
I must be in loveLove is not a feeling I'm familiar with you know
I've heard about what's possible and just how it can growI've often prayed there'd come a day
That for myself I'd see
It appears that things are looking up
All I know is I must be in love
I must be in love

It's Better Than That
( Lou & Peter Berryman © Lou & Peter Berryman Music, BMI)
Got a flash for you kids who think adults are lucky
Own their own cars and everything's just ducky
Going to bed whenever they want to
If that's what you think I've got a flash for youIt's better than that
Take Saturday and multiply it
Times fifty four, add thirty more
It's better than thatWe have a chocolate eclair about as big as your head
Way before noon before we get out of bed
We do the things you're not allowed to do
Then we do things you haven't thought of tooHang onto your hat
Hang onto your bologna sandwich
Take fifty grand to Disney Land
It's better than thatSo if you think that our days are extra warm and sunny
Piles of toys and a pocket full of money
No one to fear because we're big and tall
We're never in school because we know it allIt's better than that
More comfy than a secret hide out
By quite a bit just think of it
It's better than thatHang onto your hat
Hang onto your bologna sandwich
Take fifty grand to Disney Land
It's better than that
Believe In Me
(Barbara Bailey Hutchison © Christara Publishing, BMI )
When all the madness in this world is bearing down
And the faith you had is buried in the lost and found
Don't give up on life cause love is not around
I will carry you to higher groundBelieve in me as I believe in you
Believe in me and I will see you through
Believe in me my love for you is true
Believe in me I believe in youIf you start to feel like your back's against the wall
And the time has come to make a stand or take a fall
Don't give up I'll be here to help you carry on
Let me bear your burden when you're strength is gone
Let me bear your burden when you're strength is goneBelieve in me as I believe in you
Believe in me and I will see you through
Believe in me my love for you is true
Believe in me I believe in you
What's Your Excuse
(Barbara Bailey Hutchison & Gene Cotton © Christara Publishing, BMI; People Song, ASCAP )
Too little too late
Too much too soon
What's your excuse
Too fat too thin
Wrong shade of skin
Born to lose
What's your excuse
What's your excuseToo quick to judge
Outside the truth
What's your excuse
Justice denied
You're absolute
What's your excuseWhat's your excuse
What's your excuseToo young too old
Too left too right
What's your excuse
Too late to start
Too much to lose
Afraid to choose
What's your excuseWhere are the answers if you never try
Tell me does it matter if you live or die
Is this just another one you walk on by
Gone With The Wind
(Barbara Bailey Hutchison © Christara Publishing, BMI )
There's a lady I knew
I have her same eyes
At a hundred and two
She was so full of life
She buried her children
Said good-bye to her friends
When her heart could break no more
She was gone with the windWhen the wind blows
Oh the wind blows
Sometimes it sweeps things away
Sometimes carries them home
Like the green leaves of Summer
When Autumn moves in
One last blaze of red
And they're gone with the windThis child in my arms
She has the same eyes
Though her namesake is gone
The memory's alive
Though she'll never know her
The love will transcend
In this child she'll live on
Though she's gone with the windWhen the wind blows
Oh the wind blows
Sometimes it sweeps things away
Sometimes carries them home
Like the green leaves of Summer
When Autumn moves in
One last blaze of red
They're gone with the windMemories live on
The cycle begins again and again
In this child she'll live on
Though she's gone with the wind
Song Of Freedom
(Gene Cotton © People Song, ASCAP )
You can keep a man in prison
You can lock him down with chains
Tell him everything he can and cannot be
You can hold his mother hostage
To a dream his father had
And isolate him from a world of dignityBut you cannot keep a fool from dreaming
Things he will believe
And the light that was meant to blind
Will sometimes make you see
You can live a lie forever
Sacrificing right for wrong
But in the hearts of those who know the truth
You will always hear this songSing a song of freedom
Dance a song for love
Praise to all the ages
For the earth and sky above
And keep the fire of hope alive
For those still dreaming of
To sing a song of freedom
And to dance a song for loveYou can keep a woman in her place
Where she's lived for all her life
You can tell her that she has no place at all
You can certify her worthless
With your power and your wealth
And ignore the message fading on the wallBut you cannot keep a fool from dreaming
Things she will believe
And the light that was meant to blind
Will sometimes make you see
You can live a lie forever
Sacrificing right for wrong
But in the hearts of those who know the truth
You will always hear this songSing a song of freedom
Dance a song for love
Praise to all the ages
For the earth and sky above
And keep the fire of hope alive
For those still dreaming of
To sing a song of freedom
And to dance a song for love

You're Still Gonna Die
(Shel Silverstein © Evil Eye Music Inc., BMI )
So you're taking better care of your body becoming more aware of your body, responding to your body's needs and everything you hear and read about diets, nutrition, and sleeping position, detoxifying your system and buying machines they advertise to help you to exercise, liquids to neutralize acids and pesticides, free weights to maximize your strength and muscle size, shots that will immunize, pills to reenergize you. . . But remember that for all your pain and gain, eventually, the story ends the same
You can quit smoking but you're still gonna die
Quit token and coking but you're still gonna die
Eliminate everything fatty or fried
And you get real healthy but you're still gonna die
Quit booze and coups but you're still gonna die
Wear Birkenstock shoes you're still gonna die
You can cut out coffee, never get high
And you're still gonna still gonna still gonna dieYou're still gonna still gonna still gonna die
Still gonna still gonna still gonna die
You can even give aerobics one more try
But when the music stops playing
But you're still gonna dieYou can stop getting a tan you're still gonna die
Eat a lot of oat bran you're still gonna die
You can search for UFOs way up in the sky
They might fly you to Mars where you're still gonna die
Put seat belts in your car you're still gonna die
Cut out nicotine, tar you're still gonna die
You can have yourself frozen suspended in time
But when they do thaw you out you're still gonna dieWith all the Reeboks and Nikes and Addidas you buy
You can jog up to Heaven but you're still gonna dieYou can have safe sex but your still gonna die
You can switch to Crest you're still gonna die
You can eliminate stress get a lot more rest
Get an AIDS test and wash with Zest
Move out west where it's sunny and dry
And you live to be a hundred but you're still gonna dieSo you better have some fun before you say bye bye
Cause you're still gonna die

I Know
(Barbara Bailey Hutchison, Rick Kelley, & Gene Cotton
Christara Publishing, BMI; Celbi Dog Music, BMI; People Song, ASCAP )Every moment every hour
Every second every day
I'm surrounded by the power of life
I look for reason in every wayI know I know
I've got alot to learn
I know I know
It's true
I know I know
I'll leave no stone unturned
Each day I'm closer to the truth
I know I knowI read a story in the paper
About the glory of a plan
Raising hope in the hearts of the many
Teaching the future is in every handI know I know
I've got alot to learn
I know I know
It's true
I know I know
I'll leave no stone unturned
Each day I'm closer to the truth
I know I knowThere are no accidents in everyday circumstance
Still I need reason to believe
When I look around and do not understand
I find it's faith that yields the wisdom I need

Life In General
(Barbara Bailey Hutchison © Christara Publishing, BMI )
Every morning when I face the day
I think I've finally found a way to do it all
Without warning soon
I'm on my way into a state of mass confusion
Lost in a grand illusionLife in general leaves me at a loss
Of how to choose the right roads
How to make the most of
What I am, and what I'll beIn a way I guess
Sometimes more is less
I work a week to buy a new TV
I spend my time on loan
When I could be at home
I hear the baying at the door
For things I'm paying dearly forLife in general leads us all to think
The needs we have are plenty
Our spectacles are pinkEveryday I find another way that time has
Tricked me to believe I'm keeping up
In a way it's true
No matter what I do
I know I'll never realize all I've given upLife in general teaches me to breath
While looking for the answers
I'm learning to believe in
Who I am, and who I'll be
